This book is one of my all time favorites! This is about a child that was abandon by her drug crazed mother, and left with her Grandmother. A couple of years later, the mom comes back wanting the child. She is married now (the mom) and wants the child back. The man she married is a high Priest, involved in a very prominent satanic cult. The child carries the stones of good and evil. The only people that really know this is the cult, because they want these stones, so they can rule the world. These stones have been in the hand of good, for thousands of years and only at certin times, are they be available to be obtained..... by either side!. The Cult wants the girl, because she holds them (unknowingly) and they need to prepare her, to release them at the precise moment! This book is about the fight for good and evil, a book I could not put down!...and most of all, it made me feel different after reading it, different in a good way. It frieghtened me, yet made me feel good too...hard to explain. It is a book worth reading!
A child called It, is a book about an abused child. The author, is that child! The book will make you hate the mom, want to hug the child, and most of all....... make you a better parent! Sometimes, I read these types of books, to help me become a better parent. Although, that may seem odd to some of you, it is what happens to me when I read this type of book. When I get angry with my children, these types of books make me stop and think. We are all human, and get angry, but NEVER should a child be put through this type of pain and humiliation. A word from me, to the author: "Thanks for sharing your life with us!".
If you like science, bombs and people knowing they haven't much of a chance to live. Then you should read this book. It is about scientist that went to put explosives into a section of ice up north, so they could float an iceberg down to the states, because of a serious water shortage. The problem is, an earthquake struck! This happened after they placed the bombs, and already started the time of detonation (they can not turn them off) and they are on the floating iceburg, with the bombs!....this book kept me on the edge of my seat... it is a great book!
Dark Rivers of the Heart is another great Dean Koontz book. If you like computers, satellites and sitting on the edge of your seat, this book is for you! You feel as if you are there with the main characters. With a few twist to keep your intrest...this book is brilliantly written!
